Mersea MudMonster Story
Our story begins far far away, in the depths of the marshes where the mud monsters play.
On an island called Mersea is where they spend their days
Eating chocolatey Mudcakes in their mud caves.
Mrs Mudcake is the mudcake maker
She's a kind little lady and a mighty fine baker!
One day she decides to share her magic chocolatey food
With the people of Mersea who live not too far from the Strood.
The mud monsters are unhappy, the mud monsters are sad.
Everyone knows that humans are vicious, nasty and bad!
Up in arms and ready to fight, the mud monsters go out in the middle of the night.
To take back what’s theirs with all their might.
But much to their delight and much to their surprise
The people of Mersea were actually quite nice.
The people loved Mudcakes, this was certainly clear
So the mud monsters went back home, a little embarrassed, but full of good cheer.
They'd share their Mudcakes, they'd share them far and wide
Until everyone feels warm, fuzzy and happy inside.
And from that day onwards, filled with kindness and caring
They'd call them 'Mersea Mudcakes',
The best chocolate treat that's perfect for sharing!
